The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan hereinafter referred to as the "Contracting Parties",

Considering that the offences against Customs laws are prejudicial to the economic, fiscal, commercial, trade and cultural interests of their respective states,

Considering the importance of assuring the accurate assessment of Customs duties and other taxes on the importation and exportation of goods, as well as the accurate determination of the value and origin of such goods,

Recognizing the need for intentional cooperation in matters related to the administration and enforcement of the Customs laws,

Convinced that action against Customs offences can be made more effective by cooperation between Customs Authorities of their States,

Having regard to the Recommendations of the Customs Cooperation Council on Mutual Administrative Assistance of December 5, 1953,

Having regard also to the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of December 20,1988,

have agreed as follows:
